I've been obsessed recently with learning how to play BTS songs on the piano, so I decided to make a cover of Suga's version of I Need U.

It's pretty simple, so I thought I'd teach you guys. Just so you know, the tutorial is mainly directed towards beginners/intermediate level, but anyone can learn!

It might seem kinda hard at first but if you break it down it's pretty easy.

Let's get started!

For beginners, here's the keys on the piano that I'll be referring to:

For this piece in particular, I'll use the flats (the letters with the b, not the #) when referring to the black keys.

Basically the pattern of the keys repeats from A through G, in case you need to play higher/lower notes than the ones shown here.

There's three main parts to this piece. For the first part, you need 3 chords for the left hand. For each chord I've written the keys you need to play, from lowest to highest:

F minor: F, Ab, C

C minor: C, Eb, G

B flat minor: Bb, D flat, F

Practice switching between these chords, try and do it as smoothly as possible. Don't worry if it takes some time!

Next we're going to add the right hand part.

Basically, the left hand is playing chords and the right hand playing series of individual keys. The hands are alternating, so just add the right hand notes in between the chords. (The left hand chords you should play are in brackets.)

That's part one!!!! How's it sound so far? Pretty good, I bet!

Now let's move on to part two!

We're going to need 3 more left hand chords here.

I play these chords lower than the ones in part one, but it doesn't make a huge difference.

Again, practice switching between these chords until you're comfortable with them.

Now let's add the right hand part. Start off with ignoring the bracketed chords and just play the individual lines of notes with the right hand on its own.

It seems long but a lot of it is repetitive, so don't worry.

If you're struggling with the longer and faster note runs, take it slowly at first. You'll get the hang of it!

Once you get the hang of the right hand on its own, play the chords at the SAME TIME as the *starred* right hand notes.

Once you add both hands it'll sound like this:

At the end, we go back to the alternating pattern that you used in the beginning:

Use the 1st F minor chord (F, Ab, C) for the ending.

Final Tips:

- Hold the left hand chords until you're supposed to change them, it helps connect the different phrases.

- Lengthen the right hand notes and try to connect them, so it doesn't sound choppy.

- Try to play softly, don't bang too hard on the piano or the sound will be harsh.

- DON'T GIVE UP!! You can do this, I believe in you!! Practicing will help you improve, don't be afraid to take things slow if you need to, you'll see results if you keep at it.

- Enjoy it. That's what music's about :)
